Field reports
For a small country such as Switzerland, budget
support offers a unique platform to have an influence
beyond its actual financial contribution. In the
context of the partner government’s visions, an
active and competent cooperation among the donor
group provides a space for advocating important
Swiss values such as federalism and rule of law.
Swiss experiences made in promoting development
and fighting poverty gain new importance in the
light of budget support. This is how results achieved
in the context of work done on programmes and projects
in remote regions and with the poor groups of the
population have an effect at the national and political
level.
